Awesome news, Fat Quarter Shop is giving away a $25 Gift Certificate at each stop on the Blog Tour, so read the details at the end about entering today's giveaway.

February's Block of the Month are Balkan Puzzle and Chunky Chevron, both made with half square trianges (HST).  Amy shows two different methods to create HST's quickly.  The video format is really nice, especially for people unable to take a live quilting class due to location, budget or schedule.

I was really smitten by this Balkan Puzzle, but desperately need a few pillows in my son's room and decided the Chunky Chevron would be a little more masculine.  So here it is in Riley Blake's Wheels line.

I forgot to take pictures in daylight, so here it is on his bed, as we are packing & I am scrambling to get this updated before I leave!  Excuse the poor lighting.

I think a quilt made of these squares would be really fun!  Big strips of fun fabric, skinny strips of your neutral.  Very cool!

Now, on to the Giveaway:  I will make this super easy, just leave a comment!  If you quilt tell me what quilt you are dying to make next (what fabric or blocks, or whatever), if you don't quilt, tell me what you like to sew, and if you don't sew, tell me what you would do with a $25 gift certificate at Fat Quarter Shop!   I'll leave this open through Sunday, March 4 and announce the winner on Monday.

Best of luck,
Courtney

  63. OK Courtney, here goes

    Hi Courtney
I'm not a blogger, so my comments won't register on your webpage. Isn't there some other way that us non-bloggers can contribute except by email? I'm a retired teacher who likes to do many crafty things, including sewing and quilting. I'm following Craftsy's BOM using a variety of batiks. I have so many ideas, as I'm sure many people do, and now I'm working on some pajama bags for my niece's two little ones, age 2 and 4. They like monkeys so they're in the shape of a monkey. I don't have any grandchildren yet, so I have to divert my creative juices to my sister's grandchildren. I like your Spoonflower fabrics. Spoonflower is such a great website with so many creative people contributing. I wish I had the knowledge to do that!
