Slow Progress

Lately I've been feeling like my list of sewing projects is a mile long and my time and energy for sewing is the opposite.  I hate that, because I love to sew and I love to be a part of things in the sewing community.  I decided to sit out this round of Kids Clothes Week Challenge, but I'm still hoping to do a little sewing for the boys later this week.  They want to be Lego Ninjago men for Halloween, and they don't seem to have those costumes around, so it looks like I'll be sewing ninja suits by default.

I did get a burst of sewing energy yesterday and spent most of the evening working on panels for my Mouthy Stitches Swap tote bag.

I am so glad to have made some progress, as I feel like the mailing deadline is looming!  This second side I used a template from here, which I was so happy to learn existed yesterday from Don't Call Me Betsy.   It was just the cool star pattern I was searching for to use a rainbow of colors!  I used black essex linen in the background.

Unfortunately, I could not get a decent picture.  We are having our roof replaced due to hail damage and leaking (which led to drywall & flooring damage, but luckily, just in a closet).  The roofers put plywood in front of the windows to protect them (and the shrubs) from the falling shingles as they dismantle the old roof.   So our house is dark.  And LOUD!

Side A

While I had out all of those rainbow scraps, I couldn't help but make a scrappy log cabin block for the Scrappy Stash Quilt-Along at Ellison Lane Quilts.

I hope you're having a great week!  I do feel like I am getting some energy (and sewing mojo!) back as I move into the second trimester.  Thank goodness!
