Pretty {little} Pouch Swap VI
I could not resist signing up for round six of the Pretty {little} Pouch Swap! There is something addictive about making mosiacs and then stalking your partner to try to make them something they will like. I started with Essex linen in Grey and added a rainbow of prints, mostly from Heather Ross and Lizzy House.
Ever since I saw Elaine's lovely pleated pouch, I have been itching to try the pleating thing. I changed it up a little to try to match my partner's requests by adding rows of rainbow colors in the pleats. Other than the colors, I pretty much copied her style of pleating exactly. Except I think all the seam allowances made it a little bulky (at least that's my excuse), so it is not nearly as neatly pleated as hers!
On the reverse, I did a dresden plate with all of the rainbow colors I used in the pleats. I added in some text fabric for the center. This side also has a large pocket with no closure, just a good spot to tuck receipts or coupons.
I used a metal zipper for the first time, and only broke one needle! Kind of inevitable, right? Inside there is another little pocket and Paperclips in Orange from Julia Rothman's awesome Type line.
I have to wrap it up with a few little goodies tucked inside and get it to the post office on Monday. I sure hope it is something my partner will like!
