Finally!
Well, it's not a finish, but it is a step in the right direction. The Across the Sea Quilt-a-long top is completely pieced. All fabrics from Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow with Kona Raffia solid. Aided in part by iTunes for iPad as I sewed up a storm to some old favorites like Pearl Jam Corduroy, U2, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins and even a little Snoop. Amazing how music can make sewing so much more fun. And amazing how many memories those old songs bring with them.
Sorry for the gloomy photo, it's a rainy day here and this is the most light filled spot in my house!
When I cut the border pieces out I was thinking they were going to be the binding, but then I realized it was the border. I couldn't get the idea of using the scraps as binding and I almost just did that and skipped the border. I kept remembering Jennifer saying [writing] that the scrappy border really makes it, so I went with it and I'm glad I did. Now just have to get to the back and get this baby finished and off to its Halloween Birthday recipient pronto!

Ah it looks fabulous! And I love sewing with music- and the memories. :) My ipod is like that too.
